Privacy Policy for Prompt Vault

Thank you for using Prompt Vault ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome Extension.

Information We Collect

When you sign in with Google, we collect the following information provided by Google:

• Your email address
• Your basic profile information (e.g., name, profile picture)

This information is used solely for the purpose of authenticating you and identifying your data within the Prompt Vault service.

Prompts and related data (names, tags, categories, folders) that you create and save within the Prompt Vault extension are stored:

• Locally on your device if you are not signed in.
• In your personal Firebase Cloud Firestore database, under your authenticated user ID, if you are signed in. We do not have direct access to the content of your prompts stored in your personal cloud database unless required for support purposes explicitly requested by you.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Prompt Vault extension.
• Authenticate you and manage your account.
• Synchronize your prompts across devices when you are signed in.
• Respond to your support requests.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal information or your prompt data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Your prompt data, when synced, is stored in your personal Firebase Cloud Firestore instance, governed by Google's Firebase terms and privacy policies.

Data Security

We use Firebase Authentication and Firestore security rules to help protect your information. However, no electronic transmission or storage of information can be entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the extension or on its web store page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
